Yoghurt Digital was founded by Michael Laps, Ian Fong and Matthew Forzan in July 2014. We first opened our doors on July 11th, 2014, and we’ve been on a whirlwind adventure ever since. But throughout our travels, we noticed there’s always been one guarantee – everyone wants to know the story behind our name.
We get asked “So why ‘Yoghurt’?” at least 2-3 times more than any other question. And rightfully so – who names their digital marketing agency after a delicious breakfast food? The answer is pretty simple, actually.
At a very high level, it involves combining and cooking ingredients like milk, sugar, yoghurt cultures and your desired flavouring. The key to the whole recipe, however, is the yoghurt cultures. That’s what ties all of the ingredients together to make the final product. Without the yoghurt cultures, you don’t have yoghurt but rather some warm, flavoured sugar-milk.
Bringing it back to the world of digital, this process is reflective of how we see ourselves in relation to the companies we work with. Most of our clients already have many of the ingredients required for a successful digital marketing strategy, but they’re usually siloed and thus ineffective. Their various digital strategies and tactics are isolated rather than aligned and connected.
And that’s where we come in.
